| Imperial Foods is a company that produces instant noodles for the Cameroonian population. As part of the private sector and the US government’s effort to fight poverty, malnutrition and HIV/AIDS in Africa, it has been decided to introduce soy-fortified and vitamin-enriched instant noodles in the diet of Africans.Imperial Foods Company is located in the Douala free zone. |
A public-private partnership was therefore set up in the form of a new company to be created with the support and the technical know-how of USDA to carry out this project in the Central African region and beyond.
All funds for the project are private and come from the shareholders and private financiers. AMSCO was requested to assist IMPERIAL FOODS by seconding a Production Manager. The Production Manager will complete the set-up of the plant, manage production plan, maintain production equipment and train local staff. With assistance of the ATMS Foundation, worth US$81,235, the company has progressed steadily with its mission and vision.

| Innscor Senegal planned to expand its business and improve the quality of its services. This required the presence of a qualified Manager to supervise the implementation of the expansion plan. The Manager in turn needed needed the support and contribution of a well trained and competent staff to effectively perform. AMSCO therefore seconded a General Manager, who is in charge of institutional operations and provides technical input to impart knowledge. |

KEK Reinsurance sees the need for reinsurance solutions for insurance and reinsurance companies across the West African Region and beyond and intends to exploit these regional opportunities. |

| La Laiterie du Berger (LDB) is the first company in Senegal that collects, manufactures and distributes products made of high quality fresh local milk. La Laiterie du Berger was set up by Bagore Bathily, a young Franco-Senegalese veterinary surgeon, who started building this project since 2003 and finally launched activities in 2006. This is an innovative project using fresh local milk as an element of differentiation to their competitors who mainly use imported milk powder in production. |
| The role of AMSCO is to assist the company achieve its objective through the secondment of a Deputy Managing Director with expertise and experience in the food business and manufacturing sector. The Deputy Managing Director will oversee the industrial production in Richard Toll, ensure the tight control of the supply chain, the maintenance of the machinery and coordinate all administrative, accounting and management activities. LDB also required AMSCO to second them with an Industrial Production Director and a Junior Marketing Manager. AMSCO has so far seconded 2 Managers, the Deputy Managing Director and the Milk Collection and Livestock Development Director. |

| The position of Director of Management Control Auditing and Organization has been identified by La Regionale and AMSCO is requested to recruit and second a professional expert to hold this position for an initial period of three years. Subsequently AMSCO’s assistance will be extended to additional requirements of experts in Cameroon and in countries of expansion as the company strategic plan. AMSCO is also requested to support the training plan that will contribute in building the capacity of local staff and successfully achieve the succession plan. The ATMS Foundation also gave a grant of US$95,520 to help achieve this. |

In March 2006, the company acquired the sole distributorship for Volkswagen vehicles in Mali and needed the services of a Volkswagen specialist to ensure repair and servicing of vehicles sold on the Malian market. The Company has sole distributorship and dealership of VW vehicles and Spare Parts in Mali. It also boasts a state-of-the-art workshop that sees to the repair and servicing needs of its Clients. |
| In March 2006, the company acquired the sole distributorship for Volkswagen vehicles in Mali ann needed the services of a Volkswagen specialist to ensure repair and servicing of vehicles sold on the Malian market. To solve this problem, implement their expansion program, develop their staff skills and sustainably retain dealership in Mali, the promoters of Linco Automobiles approached AMSCO for the recruitment and secondment of a Volkwagen engine specialist. In response to other needs AMSCO seconded 3 managers in the positions of Technical Director, Warehouse Manager and Workshop Manager. As of 2011, there is only one active Manager- the Workshop manager. The ATMS Foundation provided a grant of $ 61,864 to Linco. |

The role of AMSCO is to assist the company achieve its objective of consolidating its position by specializing in areas of very sharp business while improving the quality and productivity of its operations before its competitors. This will be done through the secondment of two managers, a Technical Manager with expertise and experience in generators activities and a Lean Six Sigma Manager - this technical position is the most important and innovative position. Matforce will be the first African company to implement the Lean Six Sigma method which will allow them to improve the quality, productivity, reduce the cost of operations and improve customers’ satisfaction.
This method can be exported and implemented in the subsidiaries afterwards by the trained staff.On the other hand, the Technical Manager will provide solutions to the level of sound of the generators. There are good perspectives for the activities focused on energy. |

The Travelhouse chain expects to fill this gap. A General Manager was seconded and a total grant of US$67,500 given to the company ($36,000 for management and $31,500 technical support. |

For the success of its new and expanded phase, the management of the Hotel deems it very critical to engage the services of an experienced expert General Manager who will be able to manage their properties. Oak Plaza therefore approached AMSCO to recruit and second an experienced General Manager for a 3 year period.
The company has also requested AMSCO to manage the capacity building aspects of the project by overseeing training and skills transfer to local staff. The AMSCO Manager, has been on the post since 2010, as General Manager. An Executive Chef has also joined the team. |
