| AMSCO CEO, Paul Malherbe is officially a member of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) Executive Committee. Inducted during the 2012 ANDE Annual Conference in New York this past September, he is the first African to take up such a position.
“AMSCO’s association with ANDE first began when we were invited to the launch in 2009. Not knowing how or where they found our details, AMSCO decided to attend the event. We’ve been a member of the network ever since,” says Malherbe.
In July 2012 nominations were open for two people to join the then 13 member Executive Committee. Paul’s name was put forward by the South African chapter, to which the Executive Committee finally gave a nod.
“Neera Nundy, of Dasra in India and I are the latest members of the committee. The benefits for AMSCO are endless. First there’s the network to which the organisation opens up its members and also the amount of business we potentially stand to gain from that network and association.”
ANDE is a global network of organisations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets. The network's members provide critical financing and business support services to small and growing businesses that create significant economic, social and environmental impact in developing countries.
