| AMSCO client, KK Security Uganda has done it again!! This time they received an accolade at the 2012 URI AWARDS held on 22nd March 2012 at Imperial Royale Hotel in Uganda during a High Level Conference on the theme: Responsible Investment as a tool for attainment of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and the Government of Uganda National Development Plan-Opportunities, Challenges and way forward.
These awards are an initiative of the Public Opinions and Uganda Investment Authority. The Technical Committee of the 2012 URI AWARDS and the public nominated KK Security Uganda for the accolade basing on their corporate commitment to: Corporate Social Responsibility/Community engagement, respect for Internationally proclaimed human rights, elimination of discrimination in respect of occupation and employment, working against all forms of corruption, upholding freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, promotion of greater environmental responsibility, commitment to combat small Arms and Light Weapon Proliferation in Uganda as clearly stipulated in various International treaties and conventions such as the United Nations Millennium Declaration, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Kyoto Protocol, the 10 Universal Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, UN Convention Against Corruption and the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.
The Right Honorable Amama Mbabazi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda was the guest of honor during the ceremony where he also officially launched the 2012 first issue of the Uganda National Handbook, as part of the National Campaign to recognize, promote and ensure responsible Investment for sustainable peace and the development of Uganda.
