AMSCO Safety Programme - Work Safe Work Smart

The AMSCO Work Safe Work Smart series equips participants with the technical know-how needed to work safely at height and also to be able to rescue a colleague who may be in distress while working on a tower or mast. It is in compliance with the Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines of the International Finance Corporation (IFC EHS) and international industry requirements. This compliance training is delivered in 3 Modules, namely "Working at Height", "Rescue" and "Basic First Aid." Sectors usually requiring this training include Telecommunication, Power, Construction, Oil & Gas. It is delivered in collaboration with internationally recognised Industry Experts - Latchways Fall Arrest, SA and the Ghana Red Cross Society.

Target: Health & Safety Managers, Project Managers, Technicians, Riggers and all workers who work at height.

Leadership & Transformation

This unique and revolutionary personal and corporate transformational programme is meant to enhance individuals and strategic planning and development. It is meant to empower individuals while transforming organizations by simplifying the process of strategic thinking. The primary aim is to energise, inspire and equip delegates with the information they need to lead their organisations to new levels and to understand the skills for personal and corporate effectiveness in leadership.

Target: Senior Executives, Managers and Department Heads, Team Leaders and Supervisors, any other key people from all disciplines who want to enhance their leadership and management skills.

Leadership and Management for Microfinance Executives (In collaboration with Boulder)

This programme will be run in collaboration with Boulder Institute of Microfinance; and is a must for all Executives of Microfinance firms. The programme will thoroughly examine typical challenges faced at the strategic level of microfinance firms and offer practical tried and tested solutions. Together with Boulder, we will introduce new tools and best practices thereby enabling our participants to partake in the development of innovative strategies, integrate them into their own organisations, and work towards providing better products and services to those most in need.

Target: CEO's, Managing Directors and Senior Managers of Microfinance firms.

AMSCO LEAD Programme

The AMSCO LEAD Programme will equip participants with the skills to understand, recognise, and foster the right leadership qualities in themselves and in others; equip participants with new tools, skills and concepts to drive business performance; allow participants to effectively handle leadership complexities; and also allow participants to share experiences and ideas with other business leaders and an internationally-recognized and qualified faculty.

Target: Business Leaders, Senior Managers, Executive in NGOs and Managers in Government.

Training Of Trainers - Customer Excellence for Managers and Supervisors

This cutting-edge programme is a must, for managers and supervisors of the Services Industry, including Hospitality. Having tracked the poor customer service offered across the sub-region, this training is designed to offer the participants with the most current notions in customer care, and also offer a platform for typical challenges to be discussed and resolved, and expose participants to a gamut of tools and techniques to be used in over-hauling and enhancing customer service. It will take the form of a 'Training of Trainers' to enable the participants to share contents and lessons learned with their team-members. It will also have a monitoring component incorporated, to enable AMSCO to determine what impact it will have on the performances of the participating companies.

Target: Managers, Supervisors and Leaders in Hotels and the Services Industry in general.

AMSCO Financial Management

This training aims to reinforce participants’ capacities to competently manage the finance function in their organisations; improve managerial skills and equip them to maximise the growth potential of their business. It also strengthens participants skills on creating and generating sound financial reports; applies models in resource budgeting and management; manage financial risks and apply best practices; address the contribution of the budgeting management function for organisational success; Applies critical analysis of performance measurement and financial controls in organisations; Use accounting packages as strategic management tools for, planning, organising, coordinating and control of organisational activities; and use computer software for accounting activity analysis.

Target: Credit Officers, Credit Management Teams in general and Heads of Department for Micro Finance Institutions.

AMSCO Microfinance Training for Effective Operations

This course will cover the following: Strategic Business Planning for Microfinance Operations; and Financial Ratios Analysis and Interpretation of Key Microfinance Performance Indicators for Decision Making. The first module involves Planning and making strategic decisions that would impact positively on the performance and growth of MFI's. The second provides an introduction to accounting for microfinance operations as well as computer interactive tools for financial ratios analysis. It equips participants to calculate key performance indicators for decision making and understand international best practice performance benchmarking in microfinance.

Target: Credit Officers, Credit Management Teams in general, and Heads of Department of Micro Finance Institutions.

Project Management for Construction

This programme focuses on the challenges of managing construction projects—from building strong teams and efficient processes to incorporating administrative structures and value-driven technology into your overall plan. The aim is to equip participants with the skills necessary to master the unique challenges of managing construction projects. The programme will incorporate the strategic and entrepreneurial process of managing construction projects to achieve profitable success. The topics will range from selection of consultants to contracting and procurement and finances. The aim is for participants to gain the broad vision and expertise needed to guide their projects from initial concept through delivery.

Target: Owners, Engineers, Architects and Builders

Strategy and Execution

This programme focuses on the art of designing and executing competitive strategies. The ability to execute strategy is more important than the quality of the strategy itself. The programme aims to provide the senior management of organisations with strategy executing skills, change management capabilities and strategic leadership skills with a focus of helping companies take full advantage of emerging opportunities in today’s economy. It will assist organisations in aligning business strategy and execution by ensuring that your organisation can effectively execute its strategy, recognising and addressing issues of misalignment of strategy and execution and realistically measuring progress against your business strategy while ensuring that your strategy is sustainable.

Target: Senior management and managers responsible for strategic planning.
