| AMSCO clients, Emerging Capital Solutions (ECP) and Phatisa Fund Managers won big at the 2012 Africa investor (Ai) Investment and Business Leader Awards.
Phatisa won the Investment Climate Initiative of the Year Award and ECP the award for Venture Capital Private Equity Deal of the Year. ECP’s award recognises the company’s investment in Nairobi Java House – a leading chain of gourmet coffee houses and exporters.
"We at ECP are strong believers in the growing African consumer story. Our team recognised this opportunity for investment through a top-down industry analysis. Our findings were confirmed during meetings in the restaurant where we experienced a solid brand that really delivers on its promise of exceptional coffee and meals at affordable prices in a lively, warm environment,” said Hurley Doddy, co-CEO of ECP upon receiving the award.
Hosted during the Africa investor Investment Climate Summit in Tokyo, Japan on 11 October 2012, the awards seek to recognise exceptional investments and policy leadership by African firms currently transforming Africa’s investment climate and global competitive edge.
